Poor credit rating but need credit card - where do I go?!

I have had previous defaults on credit cards, but these accounts are now closed.
I need a credit card for reasons that a debit card just won't cover -e.g. car hire when travelling.
Does anyone know of a card provider that would cater for me? I intend to pay off each transaction in full - just need the card to book car hire etc.

Capital One? Not sure of the rate they are offering but the standard card might be available?

Vanquis is another bad credit rating card

Try Vanquis. They gave me a card and I have CCJ's in my past! I pay off the full balance each month. TBH I only use it so I can help my credit rating.
