O/S Daily Monday 24th March

This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine.

DH is in black mood today, he has lesson observation and says no matter what he does/how good he makes it, they won't like it :(

Well wishes for all sick people and pets and hugs for those that need or just want them. Keep well and safe and have a super day :)

Morning TTFTM and all who follow,

Buddt the cat woke me at 5.30, how he's going to be when the clocks go forward at the weekend heaven knows!:rotfl:

Got a lot done this weekend. OH did some small DIY jobs, and I changed t know why Ihe living room around. Put the telly on top of some units and fitted the stereo inside. Looks really good and makes the space seem huge now! Don't know why I didnt think of it before.

Had the Hastings half-marathon yesterday. The start and finish is right opposite my house so we can see everything. While I was sitting on my garage roof watching a friend I hadn't seen for four years appeared! Lovely to see her and catch up.:T

DD will be over later. Got DGD a sailor dress to match her brother. They are getting christened at last!:T

Got to pop up and see Dad. Still getting grief from Social Services, so got my MP involved now.

    Dinner is left over chicken.

    Have a great day!

  • Good morning ttftm and to all who cross/follow,
Sun is shining, looks like it is going to be another lovely day.
Have got some pasta cooking for the girls lunches. Had a reasonable amount of chicken left over from yesterday so they have got some of it with the pasta and there will be enough for a pie for tonights dinner.
Back to work for me today. Hubby has got work tonight so he will be in bed.
I had better get a shift on as i need to get the washing hung out.
I hope everyone has a good day and hugs to those who need them.

What a lovely morning, so nice and bright, but chilly down here. For some reason I was wide awake at 530, so I got up, reconciled my bank accounts, put DW on, hung out washing and am now sitting with coffee and browsing.

Have a good day all, the sun does raise my spirits, hope it does yours too, hugs where needed.

    Morning everyone

Hugs to those that want/need them.

Now light, bright and sunny, but very cold and frosty – hopefully will be a decent day when it warms up a bit. Will put washing on line in a mo.

DH and getting ready for work.

Dinner last night was a bit late – as we didn’t leave the camp site as early as I’d hoped then we visited my parents (DS1 had been to play golf with dad and they’d fed him some lunch) and the outlaws. So I didn’t get the joint into the oven until after 4pm – but it gave me time to crack on with jobs whilst it was cooking – so by the time we did eat I’d prepped the rest of the meal, made packed lunches for today, unpacked, got a load in the WM, DS2 had had a bath, I’d had a shower, I’d sorted a couple of jobs on pc and DH had made a couple of phone calls that needed attention.

Tonight dinner will be pork chops, pots, veg and gravy – I went to bed then got up again as I remembered I’d forgotten to take the meat out of the freezer to defrost – so found them in the freezer and then went straight back to bed.

Back to work today for me, it will be a manic Monday as we’re now in our busiest period of the year – it will be horrendous for the next 4-6 weeks – deep joy! At least it keeps me busy – and I’ve realised over the last week or so that’s what I need right now – whilst I’m busy pottering around and doing things all the time – my mood stays steady and generally good – without dipping into the overwhelming and CBA mood. So I’m just trying to keep busy – but at a steady rate – and not running around like a headless chicken otherwise that sends me into an overwhelming I can’t cope with all this type of mood. Just going to work steadily this week as we’re going away on Friday daytime this week so “lose” 1 of my days off. Once we’ve got through this weekend, things do become less busy – and we haven’t got as much on – we knew March would be difficult as everything has been going on and we’ve not been able to move any of the engagements/commitments to another time as they were set by other people/organisations. But it’s just been really busy.

Had another cracking weekend, was really lovely and good to catch up with friends.

    Keep safe and well x

    Morning to All :hello:
It's a frosty but bright start here, I think it is due to stay bright and get warmer! Had porridge for brekkie and just finishing my green tea. Prepped all my veg & tatoe for tea tonight (sausage & veg) as got up when my alarm went off for a change :)
Spent last night dreaming about the allotment and getting all lovely veg from it, my OH found this funny at 4.30am when he got up for work.
Nipping to my aunties again after work today and also down to the cheap store, then home to cut OH's hair and get tea on. Think we will have an early night tonight, as OH looked very sleepy and with him driving for a living I do worry, so like him to be well rested!

Well can't believe its Monday OR that this is the last week in March, this year is flying. Have a wonderful day everyone.
    Happy Monday :j

Good Morning everyone cold, but bright and dry here in the Garden of England:)I have a little bit of ironing to do from yesterday and then returning a couple of libray books and that's about the extent of my hard work today :):)(apart from looking after the boys before and after school of course )
My youngest DD has been given a treat by her boss for all of the extra work she has been doing and its a £100.00 voucher for a spa day so we are going to The Oxford Belfry in Thame in June as a treat for us both. I texted one of my nephews who lives about 20 mintes from there, and he is going to pop in and see us and we''l go out for lunch as well.Hopefully the weather will be nice. I used to live in Oxford back in the 1960s and met my late OH there so it will be nice to have a trip down memory lane.Tessa is looking forward to having some deep soothing foot massages as the hotel apparently has a nice spa there. So it will be a nice bit of 'pampering' for us both :):)
Right, time to get a wriggle on Have a good day chums whatever you are doing

    Morning all,
Got to pop up and see Dad. Still getting grief from Social Services, so got my MP involved now.
Shame on them. Hope you get some joy with your MP.

Just made an appointment for 'youngest' to see our doctor. It took over 100 calls to get through though. I usually book our appointments through the emisacess website but I'd lost his user number on the system.... well that's not strictly true as they changed it. I can remember his old user number which is so annoying. I wish they didn't keep messing with things.

List of jobs a mile long today. Not sure how many of them I can fit in today but we'll see:

[strike]Make an appointment at the doctors surgery[/strike]
[strike]Phone breast screening clinic - change of phone number.[/strike]
    [strike]Vacuum upstairs[/strike]
    [strike]Dust upstairs[/strike]
    [strike]Stairs[/strike]
    [strike]Vac downstairs[/strike]
    [strike]Dust downstairs[/strike]
    [strike]Kitchen floor[/strike]
    [strike]Laundry[/strike]
    [strike]Tea (not sure what yet)[/strike]
    [strike]Make pulled pork.[/strike] cooking
    bathroom

    Onwards and forwards,

hope you all have a good day.
