Fantastic Job!
You can't beat the feeling of knowing you are debt free - for many of us - for the first time in years.
Good luck with the future. Everyone will have their own personal plan and demands going forward but for me, putting a big lump of what I was paying into my DMP into a savings account is working well as now I have an emergency fund rather than looking for credit if something comes up - not that I'd be able to get a loan with my credit file lol0 -
Well done, that's brilliant for youPAYDBX 2016 #55 100% paid! :j Officially bad debt free...don't count my mortgage.
Now to start saving...it's a whole new world!!0 -
Well done you!
Hope after such a struggle, you reward yourselves in some way. Doesnt have to be expensive, just think of the things you havent been able to enjoy whilst on your journey and pick one of them!

Thank you all
Sorry it's taken me so long to respond.
It doesn't feel real to be honest; I got paid and was able to pay all my outgoings and when my wife gets paid at the end of the week the money will all be ours.
We got some of it a bit early because we had savings in our DMP so the first thing we did was get a new bed - we weren't sleeping properly on our creaking old one. We've also taken the in-laws out for a meal (only a cheap pub, mind!) because they've help us out a few times (like when I was hospitalised over Christmas and my wife cannot drive)
I plan to take her to the Doctor Who Experience in Cardiff next week because she has always wanted to go, and deserves a treat. As for me, I plan to get back into DJing (had to sell my decks when we were skint) and visit my mum who lives in Yorkshire but I've never had enough money for fuel or train fare.
To the poster who suggested a new credit card - I hope that's joke or you are a troll. I don't intend to get any more credit of any sort.LBM: May 2009: £21,896 in debt
