Had LBM in May 2009 and by the time the man from Christians Against Poverty had been and we'd signed on the dotted line to begin the debt management plan , we were just shy of £22,000 in debt.
It's been one of the hardest things we've ever had to do. I've been dragged through county court, lived on the meagerest of budgets (will never forget the days of eating a bag of microwave popcorn for tea because that's all I had in the house, work colleagues having to lend me oil for the car, and finding enough pennies on the pavement to buy a bottle of milk). We've battled illness, anxiety, noisy neighbours, problems at work and at home.
Now I am pleased to announce that we made the final payment at the start of March and at the end of this coming week we will get paid and not have to hand it over to a charity. We've made our budgets for the future and are going to stick to them (although we do plan to treat ourselves a little) No credit from now on. It's a life lesson hard earned - we're definitely not going there again.
Thank you to anyone who has offered me comfort, support and guidance on here

You may have learnt the hard way, but that is the best way because it means you know what it is like to plead poverty and you don't ever want to go there again. Well done you stuck to your plan and have come out the other side. xx:j I belong to Mike's Mob :j0
