Hi
After leaving my car overnight in a friends car park at his flat I received a PCN for £100 (£60 in 14 days) from CM Services Ltd (Comprehensive Management Services).
There are signs present which I stupidly didnt read properly
The signs do say they are BPA members but it appears they are no longer?
I was just ready to pay when a friend suggested I posted on here first. I have read the FAQ section and wanted to clarify what to do next.
Thanks in advance.

Was this a ticket attached to your windscreen?
Are you the registered keeper of the vehicle?
Do you live in England/Wales and was the incident in England/Wales?
CMS are now members of the IPC, who use a different 'independent' appeals process (i.e. not POPLA).0 -

What was the date of the parking event? CMS joined the IPC on 03/02/14.
Here's the link to the IPC AOS:

At this stage then the advice is to wait for a Notice to Keeper which will come through the post within 29-56 days time.
Once this arrives use the template appeal contained in the Newbie sticky thread to appeal to CMS, and then appeal to the Independent Appeals Service (IAS), which is the IPC's version of POPLA.
Come back here if you want us to check your first appeal to CMS and/or your appeal to IAS.
Also, I'd fire off a quick e-mail (once the notice arrives through the post) to both the IPC and BPA as CMS is showing the wrong association on their signage. Also, include that in your appeal to them (if you can get a picture of the sign that would be helpful).0 -

Ok so Ill wait for it then thanks.
The fact the signs were clear and I didn't read them doesn't affect things though?0 -
Nope. The signage is not really what you're appealing on. Your appeal will be based on the fact all that the amount their seeking to recover from you is unlawful (not a genuine pre-estimate of loss). Also, if this was after the date that CMS joined the IPC then their signs are misrepresentative. Have a read of the Newbie sticky thread to get accustomed to the process.0

I would advise you to read the NEWBIES thread at the top of the forum in readiness for the appeal.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
CLICK at the top or bottom of any page where it says:

It was the same £100 'fine' reduced to £60 if paid within 14 days, and said that they'd taken 5 photos. I am the registered keeper and it happened in Cheshire in England.
I am NOT paying this for parking in a space that a) I couldn't have accessed anyway had I not worked within the building, as you need an allocated key to unlock/lower a metal post that is positioned in the middle of the space to prevent people parking there that shouldn't, and b) is already paid for by the company I work for through their lease of the offices within the building!
What is the 'newbies' thread as referred to in previous replies?
Oh dear, more thread hijacks. Vickiebarbie, we can help you, but not on this thread. Please read the post below, which I have written, literally seconds ago, on another hijacked thread. Please start a new thread so that we can give you advice that is absolutely germane to your circumstances. Jumping in on another thread means mixed messages which no one necessarily understands to whom they relate. This causes confusion which can ultimately become costly to all.
When you do start your new thread, please indicate from whom you received the parking charge. Help will be available then - and, yes, you should definitely continue to contest this - what have you got to lose?
Also read this sticky which details everything you really need to know, then you may not even need to start a new thread.
