windscreen wash

I mix yellow, blue and pink.
Depends what quantities of each I have left.

windscreen formuals dont matter at all - it's important to get the correct "colour" coolant for the engine and I wouldn't even go by that - very important to get the exact spec coolant for your engine and not just go by colour alone.
I hate having to buy lots and lots of windscreen wash in 5 ltr bottles. You can buy concentrates. I bought mine from B&Q where you mix 25ml solution per litre of water.
Saves storage space in the shed as you dont need to have a massive 5litre tank stowed away.
Also, economical a 1 litre concentrate cost me £2 which makes 40 litres of windscreen washer.
It's no longer on the b&q website, searched online seems like I got the bargain of the century. Sells for $10 http://www.supercheapauto.com.au/online-store/products/SCA-Windscreen-Wash-Concentrate-1-Litre.aspx?pid=224893#Cross0 -

And you arent allowed to say you're ignoring mark_mark hence your sig change.0 -
I've always chopped and changed, however recently found out BMW recommend you keep to one product always (no they're not flogging out their own and saying only use BMW) because of potential reactions causing crystal formation and blocking the washers.

How small is your washer tank? My one isnt filled by a 5L bottle let alone having to store left over liquid0 -

from empty to brim it's 2.5 ltr. I just run it to empty and fill with 2ltr.0 -
I have heard it said that mixing types of screenwash can cause fan jets to get blocked, but I have seen no hard evidence that this is true. I choose to avoid doing so as much as I can though.0

The 'mixtures reacting' sounds like cobblers to me! Probably to jusify them draining the wash & replacing/charging it with their standard wash at service time. (Yes, I have known this happen. It was deleted from the bill - but I wonder how many people/Co car drivers would just accept it. Easy money for a less honest garage.)
If you're out of screenwash then an old trick is to use a spot of white vinegar to cut through the traffic film - don't blame me if you get a sudden craving for fish & chips though!!0
