Hi

I have an art and craft business and sometimes attend craft fairs. Some fairs have said I need Public Liability Insurance. Any suggestions please?
I work from home and have quite a lot of stock.

it isnt insurance for your stuff- it is liability insurance. Try hiscox.

Some alarm bells going off here.

How much stock? Do you keep it at your home? If it was destroyed in a fire, would you expect your home insurance to pay for it? Do they know about it?

I would strongly recommend Public Liability insurance to anyone doing anything involving members of the public. It isn't expensive, and people are very quick to sue/try to sue these days.

I don't know what sort of craft you do, but what if your sculpture breaks when they pick it up and a big bit lands on their toe, or an eye comes out of your teddy bear and chokes a small child, or a painting falls off the wall at an exhibition and hits someone on the head. The ways in which people could injure themselves with your craft work are many and various!

To get PL insurance, just Google it, and shop around like you would for house insurance/car insurance.
No longer a spouse, or trailing, but MSE won't allow me to change my username...

    Inform your Home Insurers.

The cheapest way to buy Public and Product Liability will be via a market traders association https://www.google.co.uk/#q=market+trade+association

Have you tried to get public liability insurance for just the duration of the craft fair?
