Hi everyone.
I have a external door which needs replacing but the sizes are 1990 x 810.
I seem to have been blessed with a door that I can not get a straight replacement for without buying a bigger door and then shaving it down (which I really don't want to do!).
I've been scouring the net for doors but can only get "standard" sizes.
HELP!!!

I'm sure a decent carpenter could make a door to size, i know i even saw a sign up once in B&Q to say they'd make odd size doors to order.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,
What it may grow to in time, I know not what.

You could possibly cut down a standard 6'8" x 2'8" door. The only problem is you will void the warranty on a standard door.0

Plenty of companies like this on Google http://www.directdoors.com/made-to-measure-doors/0

Add some more wood to the frame to make the opening smaller, maybe?Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

If it's PVC your are after they custom make them.

No, do not cut the top off! You can usually get away with planing a few mm off any edge of a door but not cutting cm off it. This damages/weakens the structure of the door as as advised above, voids any guarantee.
If B & Q cannot make one to order, get a few quotes from local joiners/timberyards. Expect to pay £250-350 for softwood, £400-£500 for hardwood.
If you are getting a new one made, consider having a toughened/dbg glass pane in it to let in more light (if light is a problem in your hall way).0 -
