Afternoon all,
So I'm giving my old laptop to the parents as their computers on its way out and a laptop would be must more practical.
I'll been having a look round and have seen a Lenovo Y510p online which looks like it has a good spec and some good reviews, the only thing am not sure about is that it comes with both ssd 8gb & 1tb hdd drive. Would the size of the sdd be ok? Guessing it'll only run the os but just wanted to ask. Any advice would be great thanks.

it's probably a SSHD hybrid drive, rather than ssd + 1tb.
if on the way out means slow, reinstall windows.!!

Cheers for that forgot there's hybrid drives.
It is a bit slow, and seems to be blue screening (physical dump) a lot saying that it's about 4th hand.
They have been looking at getting a laptop for a while and making a bit more room but if it's not too much hassle I might give it a go. Thanks0 -
blue screens and slow are nearly always caused by software, backup and factory restore should cure it!!

Easy enough to do via windows or do I need some software? Reinstalling not something I've attempted before.0

if you have the windows disc, or if it's branded and there is a still a factory restore partition after 3 previous owners, then it's easy.. depends on the model. See the speedup sticky thread.!!
