How can I stop the bedroom window blowing open?

We have an old fashioned double-glazed window, which means it's either open or shut. Is there anything I can use so I can leave it open just a little, to let the air in. If I try leaving it open a bit, it just blows wide open or shut  Frightens me to death.

Easy to fit a cable window stay, usually used so kiddies can't fall out.0

The hinges quite often have an adjustable friction screw - can you identify if your hinges have these?

Hi
Just get on of these {link below} then choose how wide you want the window open :0)

Re Post 2, we have these locks on our windows and they are really efficient, BUT get the ones with the lock, not the permanently fixed one.
If you may want to remove them later, use your own screws, not the permanently fixed ones supplied. Does mean though that anyone with a screwdriver can remove the locks.
Google 'Jackloc' but compare prices, we bought ours a few years ago direct from the company.0
