Help when using 'Quick Reply'

A really silly question - sorry!

When I use the Quick Reply facility none of the 'buttons' (Bold etc) are working and nor are the smilies.

Help please.

Because it's a "Quick Reply". If you need the other bits, push the button that says "Go Advanced", although Bold, Underline and Italics are available from Quick Reply as are other things as can be seen in the ribbon.

So have gone advanced - (B)(/B) and this is what I get when I click on the B button!!!!!!!!!!!!! (although the brackets are square shaped.)

Feel such an idiot. Have always been able to see bold text, smilies etc in my reply box so just thought it wasn't working. Duh!

I should just click on "Advanced" before starting to reply. Makes it a bit easier. :cool:

Simply clicking on the large, blue "Post Reply" button at the end of the thread takes you straight to Advanced mode.

You can get any formatting you want in Quick Reply by simply typing-in the appropriate code.

A little practice and it soon becomes second nature.
