I am not sure if I should cash settle a flood claim or not? the loss adjuster has told me 2-3 months to get contractors to my home. The worry is that all of the specialist builders are equally as busy. what happens if I find more damage after I have settled?

That would be a risk. You would have to make sure that a full assessment was carried out of the damage and costs to put right, before you sorted out your own contractors. The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.0

Can you get a cash settlement for known damage and reserve the right to go back to them if anything else is discovered?
Or, if you find a builder just get your insurers to deal with them.0
