Quality Garden Furniture
Options
Hi
We are looking to buy a 4 seat set of decent garden furniture. We are happy to spend a but more.
We have found three sets we like, all which work out around £450 to include parasol and cushions.
The sets we like are made by Hartman (cast aluminium) and Kettler and Alexander Rose (powder coated steel).
Based on RRP the Hartman set seems to be the better deal and is cast aluminium which I understand is the better material. So we are edging towards that set.
Any thoughts? Are these manufacturers good quality?

I'd suggest going on the manufacturers websites, they normally have an area in which you can find local stockists. then go and try them out nothing worse than an uncomfortable seat.0

Thanks we have already tried all three. I was just wondering if anyone had first hand experience with the companies and if they really are 'quality'0

I have had a cast aluminum set for 30 years....not that make though.
Aluminum will never rust but the steel set will....powder coated or not.0 -
That's the sort of thing I was after, thanks. I would be happier spending the money on something that will last, with little maintenance.0

The paint has well chipped off my set now but it has spent 30 years outside !!
I suppose I could have it sandblasted clean & re powder coated but it's not really worth doing.0 -
I'd love to help, but after more than four years, I still haven't found it possible to sit down in my garden, except when cooking on the barbie, when I use a plastic chair.
Even then, I'm thinking, "Weeds over there... lawn tomorrow...must wash the polytunnel...... Is that a pheasant?"
By then, I'm standing up again!" :rotfl:0 -
Some remark that you can tell how well people are doing.
Wooden-well.
Plastic-its tough out there.
I've got plastic.0 -

Where's cast aluminium fit?
Yep, I was wondering that too......and wicker/rattan? We currently have two sets of cast aluminium stuff (that wasn't cheap when bought new in 2005) and as it's now getting a bit tired (I repainted it and bought new parasols last year in an attempt to give it a new lease of life, but not sure it'll last much longer!) I'd love to splash out on some pricey Bridgman rattanMortgage-free for fourteen years!
