O/S Daily Sunday 23rd March

This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine.

    Morning All
The sun is splitting the skies here - hope it lasts, I have one of the throws from the sofa in to wash, should dry quickly. I will get DD to strip her bed when she surfaces.

Finished painting the room at about 9 last night, had a quick look this morning and I don't think it needs another coat. I need to clear it all out and then it's ready for the carpet being fitted on Thursday.

Spag Bol for dinner here, I made the sauce on Friday for yesterday but forgot DD was out last night. Must do some housework, building work makes for messy houses!!

Hope you all have a good Sunday. Hugs to all. Take care. XX
  • Morning all
Chilly but sunny here today, probably some showers later so I'll keep an eye on the washing.
    Hugs to Molly & Hilly.
    LW, hope you are ok
Fish fed, hubby's had cooked breakfast, I've had porridge, now he's back working in the garden.
I've taken pics of the garden as it's coming along so well, I'll post them on my blog later.
Plans for today include more sewing & some ironing.
Time I jumped in the shower.
    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester

Morning chums, brightish and dryish at the moment:):) but I'm not too sure it will last.I have a wash in the machine at the moment but only a small one so if it does rain I can put it on the airer in the conservatory.
Eldest DD is due for her strangled eggs and coffee shortly. She arrives every Sunday morning and we have a jolly good natter and I wait on her hand, foot and finger bless her its her weekly treat as she is such a busy lady :):):)
My sis-in-law is due back from NYC later today so I'll give her a ring tonight to see if she enjoyed it.She wasn't too sure if it was her cup of tea but I assured her that I have never yet met anyone who didn't get a thrill from the BIg Apple :):):)
Off to youngest DDs later for dinner I think we're having Lamb with all the trimmings so I shall save myself for it :):):) light lunch for me today soup and crackers I think with some fruit.
Right time to get the coffee perking
have a great day whatever you are up to
    Cheers chums JackieO xxx
  • Good morning everyone :)

Beds stripped and bathroom emptied and cleaned. Second wash of the day in the machine, first is on the line but am not convinced it will stay there long as the sky looks threatening.

Taking DD and GDD out for meal today. They all had a brilliant day at Alton Towers but said they wasted two and a half hours queueing for a ride that was broken but the staff never thought to inform the queue

DH is going up early to assemble bike so GDD can have a quick ride before we go out to eat.

Need to get a few bits of shopping but can do that on the way to restaurant.

Well wishes for all sick people and pets and hugs for those that need or just want them. Keep well and safe and have a super day :)

    Morning all

Back from a few days with our caravan down Hereford way, first time there for us, lovely part of the UK. We did it very OS, took flask and lunch out with us every day and cooked every night, a frugal trip.

Just emptying and cleaning caravan out then off out for lunch.

Hugs on their way for those that need them.

    Morning all,

DS2 dropped at school for the trip to Snowdonia, couldn't believe how much stuff he chose to take. Some of the kids had tiny, tiny holdalls. I don't know how they managed it. Still I suppose some kids wear the same things day in day out. Euwwww I hate to think of the smell!

We had a very enjoyable evening at DD's engagement party. It really lifted my spirits and I hope they stay there.

As it is just the two of us we are going to have lunch out today. Quite looking forward to it.

    Happy Sunday all :)

    Morning all,

Thanks for the good wishes, I enjoyed my meal and even better I made healthy choices.
A nice morning here but still very chilly, my new washing machine and dryer and gently purring away:D got a fantastic deal because we bought both. We could have spent more just on the washing machine so I'm pleased that we got a bargain.
Hubby is cleaning his garage today so will have a bit of peace and have a couple of tv programmes to catch up on, along with a bit of surfing I'm hoping for a nice quiet day. Just got to do my exercises first.
    Have a good Sunday x

  • We have just had a hail storm, but the sun has just come out so I hope it stays out because I need to tidy it up a bit and get some more seeds in. I am trying to get as many as I can in while I still can before my op.
DD and DH have gone swimming and I have just put the beef in to cook slowly.

Julie glad that you enjoyed your meal

    Evening All.
Can't believe Sunday evening is already here!! Me and BF went out for a curry last night and had a really wonderful evening spending some quality time together
Did a few jobs around the house/yard this morning and then we went to the allotment and turned over a couple of the beds and planted first early potatoes, beetroot and parsnips. My seeds of cabbage, broccoli and leeks are starting to pop through, so will be planting them out within the next 4 weeks. It was sunny although a little cool here, then we had a hail storm & we took refuge in the car with the flask of coffee and the next minute it was sunny again so we carried on.
Had quiche & beans for lunch and a cuppa. Log burner is now lit and roaring away, and my BF has just nipped to help his dad stone up their drive before dark falls totally.
I have been looking at 'american style' fridge freezers, and found a lovely one, just waiting for my BF to arrive back home to see what he thinks.

I hope everyone has enjoyed there weekend.
