Long tailed tit ....

......... Is driving me mad.

All day long from the moment it's light until dusk the bird is tapping on all the windows in the house. At first it was cute and would only tap when the curtains were open, now it does it even when the curtains are closed. I have tried various things such as putting up those window stickers but nothing will stop the tapping. It has been going on for well over a month now.

Any ideas on how I can persuade it to move else where?

Many thanks in advance

It's probably attracted by the reflection of itself, you could try a mirror placed nearby or a smear of Windolene type cleaner to dull the bottom of the window.

Put food in a safe cage-style feeder as far away from the house as you can manage, and this will hopefully entice it. They prefer peanuts to seed, in my experience

Long tails usually move in packs, it's odd to find one on its own.....

What happens when you go to the window and act big and scary? Or move the window?

    Learn to love it!

Last year we had a wood pigeon living in the tree in our garden, which is right outside our bedroom window. He had a very distinctive call, and he would hoot repeatedly from about 6am. It drove us mad, not to mention waking us up far too early!

The kids named him Alan and over the summer we all became quite attached to him, he would come and sit on the garden fence hooting and being quite friendly. Anyway, he disappeared over the winter and we were all worried where Alan had gone. He's reappeared a couple of weeks ago, gone back to the same nest and is currently waking us up every morning!

Thanks for the tips I will give them a go. It does move when I go near the window so I had thought of putting scary photos of myself in the windows lol. There are 2 of them but only 1 pecks on the window.
