OP was after expansion port 2 to dc power. I take it he doesn't want to start taking the laptop apart. Although, that would probably be the better solution..
I took the laptop apart....into lots of pieces and I couldn't get the metal chassis off to free access to the PCB which the power socket is soldered to.
