NCB 4 years and 7 years

Hi all,
I had two cars with both separate policies. I sold both cars and recently did some quotes on a new car.
The one with 7 years is over 2 years old and only Co-op will take it on at just over £800 for the new car.
I thought I would do another quote with the 4 years policy it works out around £440.
Is it worth keeping the 7 years one then and hope if I go with the 4 years, do not make a claim in the next year and get the full NCB after that?
Thanks

well if its worth it you can first get insurance using the 7 years and cancel it once they confirm the 7 years NCB
you will be liable for the cancellation charge etc but atleast once you cancel they will then send you a new proof of 7 years which you can use again within 2/3 years
but you need to weigh up the cost of cancellation and the increase in premium if anything was to happen0 -
Insure the car with the Co-op for a few days/weeks or a month then cancel and go with someone cheaper when they provide new proof of no claims?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
