UK CPS - Parking in a disabled bay without owning a blue badge
2014N
Ok, so I have read lots of threads and am terribly confused ... let me explain..
I parked in a disabled bay in Centertainment in Sheffield. It was directly in front of Nando's, which I decided to visit to pick up a quick snack.
I do not own a disabled blue badge, and am not registered disabled, but I did find myself having to park in a disabled bay for a short space of time (5 to 10 mins) and was issed a ticket from UK CPS for parking in a disabled bay with no badge displayed.
I did try to locate an appropriate space, but the last 2 were taken within seconds just before. I thought that it would not be a problem to only use the space for that short amount of time.
I do suffer with tinnitus, visual snow and also had a long bout of vertigo earlier in the year, which I think is caused by stress, which since overnight has returned. I know it is no excuse, but I can find walking through crowds of people stressful, as was waiting for food in a place with music, as it aggrivates my tinnitus and I do have a slight anxiety problem which stops me being in unfarmiliar public places for long, which I am suffering with and have done for some time.
A direct reply would be good in response to my specific situation as reading large pieces of info also is making my vertigo worsen. I am struggling to read through all of the info, so any help with this would be greatly appreciated.
I am getting more dizzy and unwell the more I try to read which is causing me physical sickness.
So where do I stand with this situation in 2014?
Do I have to pay this if I don't have a disabled badge at all?
Other replies and posts do not seem to apply to my situation, and being on a computer for long periods of time do make my symptoms of vertigo worse, so any helpful advice would be great. I am really dizzy today and want to be sure on this issue.
I know it could be technically my fault for not being disabled enough, or registered disabled at all, but the stress of all this may put me out of work if my vertigo continues to worsen. It has come on badly overnight and I do not want to be off for 2 months again.
Please help.
