How long should I expect a transaction with Charles Stanley Direct to take ?
I can't find this info. anywhere on their site.
If, for example, I want to put £5000 into funds having transferred the cash in from my bank, how long before the funds are purchased ?
Anyone have an idea please ?

I am new to them myself but it's not fast, about 3 days on average so far for me0

I didn't take too much notice with my first 2 purchases but last Friday before midday I placed another 2 orders. Just after 8:00 AM on Wednesday I got mail regarding the contract notes. Yesterday I placed another order before 8:00 AM and will place another Monday morning and see how long they take. I suppose one thing that makes it seem longer is you only get the Pending and Dealt statuses without the Submitted for Dealing stage that I get on HL
One other thing, I understand that monthly savings is also a bit longer with them. They take payment on the 3rd and purchase on the 10th, this is a fair bit longer than HL's 7th/10th0 -
There is no such thing as a dumb question so dont worry about it. We all have to learn new tricks.
The speed of the deal depends on what day and time you place it and also what fund(s) you are buying into.
Submitting a deal on Friday afternoon/Sat/Sunday will inevitably mean it wont get attention until Monday for example.
Submitting a deal weekdays AM is better.
Having said that, whilst many/most funds deal daily, some deal only every few days or more.
Im with HL and typically if for eg i submit a deal on monday am,it wont be complete until weds pm at earliest typically..HTHFeudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0 -
I placed orders for five separate funds on Thursday early afternoon.
I received three contract notes yesterday morning at 8.15, and the remaining two this morning at 8.08. This is with Charles Stanley Direct.0
