Sick leave and holidays

Hi Looby,She shouldnt need a note from her doctor about her holiday though - thats the point. She has already provided a cert which is enough to cover her period of absence. Any HR manager worth their salt will know that a holiday can aid recuperation. I know its hard but she needs to by-pass the manager now and deal with HR only. She was corteous enough to speak to her line manager in the first instance but given the response I wouldn't go back to them. Perhaps a phone call to save having to go back into store might be a start? Even if its to arrange an appointment.Getting a positive resolution is going to help her move forward also. Hope to hear some better news soon. Take care.Boots Card - £17.53, Nectar Points - £15.06 - *Saving for Chrimbo*2015 Savings Fund - £2575.000

Thanks Boomdocker, I'll pass your advice on to her. This is all very new to her, she's never been on the sick in her entire life (she was given 2 weeks compassionate leave when her dad was dying) so doesn't know what exactly her rights are. I think a lot of the problem was shock at the way her manager spoke to her.0
