Neighbour changes use of garage and then complains about noise

If you really want to be helpful you might agree to sound proof your workshop but at their expense given that you would be losing 100mm? of space.

That's still £60 more than the OP needs to spend. Instead the OP should "spend" his time making as much noise as and when he pleases in his garage/workshop....<sigh>2 kWp SEbE , 2kWp SSW & 2.5kWp NWbW.....in sunny North Derbyshire17.7kWh Givenergy battery added(for the power hungry kids)0 -

You don't even have the first _clue_ about how glad I am not to live next door to your petty-minded vengeance, do you?0 -

Sorry but petty minded...where did that come from?
I've stated the obvious, that's all. If you choose to bow to your neighbours every whim and call then fine, go for it.. be a door mat, i choose not to be, hope the OP does the same.2 kWp SEbE , 2kWp SSW & 2.5kWp NWbW.....in sunny North Derbyshire17.7kWh Givenergy battery added(for the power hungry kids)0 -
What petty-minded vengeance? If the neighbour has a complaint about a situation of their own making then the solution is in their own hands. Why would the OP want or need to change their lifestyle or spend money on it? I wouldn't and I doubt many others reading this thread would either.
I reckon you're in an argumentative minority of one.0 -
I might be a contrary female canine but if my next-door neighbours had done what the OP complains of I'd be out in my garage banging around and making a racket to my heart's content, too.0

I'd be amenable to the neighbour paying to soundproof my garage wall to my specifications just to keep a quiet life. Why make your life more difficult than it needs to be?"If you think it's expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur." -- Red Adair0

The deliberately exacerbating the problem by making as much noise as possible bit...
Suggest you read the opening post, i quote"Everything was rosey, you could make as much or as little noise as you wanted and nobody complained as there was 2 garages between the properties"
The fact the neighbour decided to change the usage of the garage is of no concern to the OP, sure as hell doesn't mean they should be out of pocket for their choices.2 kWp SEbE , 2kWp SSW & 2.5kWp NWbW.....in sunny North Derbyshire17.7kWh Givenergy battery added(for the power hungry kids)0 -

Of course he can make as much noise as he wants, but he could also chose to be a kind and considerate neighbour.
Just because the people he lives next door to are ejits, it does not mean he has to be.
I would be pricing up the cost and asking my neighbours if they would like to contribute.0
