Hi,
I'm on a meter where I use the key for my electric. My gas is not on a meter and is also from Scottish power. I'm mainly home at weekend and evenings as at work. I don't have any gadgets apart from mobile and tooth brush and shaver, iron , TV that uses electric. Is it cheaper if I don't have my electric via a key meter. If I asked Scottish power to change this in same was as gas, can they do this or will it cost me? If so how much. What if I took my gas and electric say to Brit gas would they connect me free so I don't hav a prepaid meter. Are meters expensive compared to getting billed not via a key meter. I know I get charged I think it's 2.35 a week to rent the meter. Advice appreciated.
Regards

You do have a gas meter-you have a credit meter. PPM's cost the same as the supplier's Standard tariff. Typically 6% more than the cheapest online discount tariff.
A typical meter change is about £60-and you may be credit checked. It may be possible to blag a free meter change in return for your business. No free lunch, and no free laptop0
