How long to wait before opening anothe bank account

Options
Hi all.
I currently have an old Alliance & Leicester account and I'm looking to open 4 bank accounts:

Santander 1 2 3 Current Account (New account)
Halifax Reward Current Account (Switch my old account)
Nationwide FlexAccount (New account)
Nationwide FlexDirect (New account)

I've just applied for the Santander 1 2 3 account. My question is do I have to wait before opening another? If so how long?

Ideally I'd like to open both Nationwide accounts now, and once I've setup/moved all of my DD's/SO's I would like to switch my old A&L account to Halifax.

I think this honestly depends on your credit file with the various agencies the banks use to check your financial history. For most people with a healthy financial record, I wouldn't see opening a few accounts as too much of an issue. Obviously each time a search is made for your credit score when opening accounts, it's recorded and will be "viewable" on your file on future searches. Many people on here, myself included have opened several accounts over the space of a week with no problems.
  • Great news. I think I'll apply for one of the Nationwide accounts then. Once I get that and the 123 account I will look at applying for the other nationwide and switch my A&L to Halifax
  • As long as you have a clean credit rating in terms of CCJs/missed payments etc, are on the electoral roll and employed with a decent enough wage you shouldn't have much of an issue opening a fair few in a short period.

I've just opened 3 Lloyds, 1 BOS, 1 TSB and been accepted for a credit card in the space of 2 weeks. This is in addition to opening 5 bank accounts and being accepted for 2 credit cards over the last 6 months. I have also only been with my employer and bank for just over 6 months which are key features so if you've been with those for a long time then that'll help.
