O/S Daily Saturday 22nd March
This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine.

Morning everyone
Hugs to those that want/need them.
Now light, patchy cloudy, and damp underfoot. Last night the sky went some very spectacular shades of black/grey/purple and we thought we were going to get a storm but it just went over the top of us but during the night we must have had some rain as the ground is damp.
DH and myself up enjoying a cuppa.
Dinner last night was HM ham and mushroom pizza (used up an open carton of passata left from making spag bol sauce), breaded chicken pieces, chips and salad for the menfolk. I had a mushroom omelette and salad, ice cream for dessert. Tonight I’m not sure, as I’ve not planned very well, so will take a packet of sausages, and new potatoes and a few other bits and see what’s happening – as normally they provide food on Saturday night. I do have some supplies in the caravan too, so may have to make something up! I have done a menu plan from tomorrow for the rest of the week and I have everything in stores/freeze/fridge for that. I’m doing the GC again on my own and have spent quite a bit of the budget but have good stores – all I need to do is plan better so that I’m not just buying more and then not using it! I did do some baking yesterday – I made the pizza base, some twinks and a tray of chocolate brownies. I also did the remaining the washing, drying and ironing – didn’t get to run the hoover over but I’m going to ask DS1 to do that whilst we’re not here this weekend. Just pottered along yesterday doing the jobs at a steady pace but keeping busy so I don’t let my mind wander to the CBA mood – worked very well yesterday it certainly helps having something to do all the time – this is something I’m going to keep doing as I want to get through this spell of CBA mood. I’m hoping that when we change the clocks next weekend – and then have light nights it will be help too. I’ve decided to pick up more of my cooking/baking – I haven’t made HM bread for ages and I’d forgotten how much I enjoy doing it, so will most possibly make some in the next week or so – this next week will be a busy one as we’re going away Friday morning so I lose one of my days’ off – but then we’re not so busy so will be able to get to grips with everything.
Have a good Saturday everyone x
Keep safe and well x

Morning all,
Bright and sunny here
Catching up on the washing this morning and doing Aldi shop later.
Very excited for DD's engagement party tonight
Have a fab Saturday!0 -
Good Morning chums bright and sunny here at the moment which is odd as rain was forecast ,but it looks pretty good at the moment .
Pottering day today methinks not going out as I don't need any shopping so will just mooch around indoors and if the weather stays nice I may take myself off for a stroll around the loacl park for some fresh air later.
Youngest DD has won a £100.00 voucher for a spa day for us both to share so we are planning to go to The Oxford Belfry Hotel in Thame later this year for a small break.I used to live in Oxford back in the 1960s and it was where I met my late OH, so it will be a trip down memory lane:):)
DD's boss gave her this little gift as a thank you for all of her hard work covering staff shortages over the past few months as he knows she is very concientious and not a clock watcher. He said take your Mum with you as she is the one who stays on later with your boys when your working late:) Bless him he is a nice chap.I think we may go in June sometime as a treat for ourselves.
Hope everyone has a great day and the sun shines down on you all
Cheers everyone JackieO xxx0 -
Morning all,
Morning nmlc and busiscoming enjoy your evenings:D hello to all who cross or follow.
The sun I shining here. Hubby is still in bed, he does enjoy his Saturday lie in and he deserves it he works so hard.
Got to take my daughter to her fellas this morning, she is taking our old vac and a rug and lamp for him. I think his flat is driving her mad. He has drawn the line at cushions though:rotfl:
They are taking DGS to watch the rugby today.
My middle son and his gf are taking us for a meal tonight.
Youngest is in the middle of his mock A levels, fingers crossed he does better than last year.
My oldest boy is Indonesia at the moment for work, but he's been what sapping me most days so I don't worry x
The sun is shining here but can't take advantage as my washers conked out. Hubby suspects it's had it and I just can't manage without so will have to get one. I'm annoyed as we were just beginning to build up a decent emergency fund. I guess that's what is for though, still hate spending it.
Need a good clean this morning, I started my WW diet on Thursday and am doing very well so far, going to try and be very careful at tonight's meal.
Hoping we are going to get time for some DIY jobs this weekend but they fly by so quickly.
Have a fab day whatever your doing xStarted Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.

Morning all
Well the sun was shining when me and BF got up, but it appears to becoming a little overcast nowGoing to take a look at the weather forecast as hoping for it to stop dry so I can get out for another run - finally went yesterday and I actually quite enjoyed it. Although I think eating 1/2 pack of pringles watching sport relief last night wasn't good :rotfl:
Today I have a bit of a list: getting bacon cob's for my BF and the rest of men in the garage today, couple of hours paperwork to do, nip and see my granddad and take a bowl of stew for him to warm up over the weekend & walk his little dog, clean both bathrooms, dust, hoover and mop at home (although some of this will wait until tomorrow if need) and provided the weather doesn't throw it down go for another run.
Hope everyone has a lovely Saturday.
:jChristmas is the most magical time of the year :santa2:

Morning all
Sunny here at the moment but don't think it's set to last
Would like to go for a walk but it's such a cold wind and my cheeks are still bright red from yesterday's walk. I will go if it warms up
Tidied up but there are piles of DHs stuff, he is definitely a 'piler' that's his way of being tidy lol piling it up in a corner  I will get him to move it today
Some washing to do but not a whole load so Im waiting for dd2 to get up as I'm sure she will have some festering in her room:rotfl:
Savoury mince and veg for dinner tonight , I need to get the minced beef out of the freezer
Have a good day everyone xx0 -
Morning:wave:,
Lovely sunny day atm.DH is working for a few hours and DS1 is off on a bike ride with a couple of mates so I should get a bit of peace and quiet which is rare.Only just caught up with yesterdays thread.I went out to meet my old school friends and didnt get back till 3.30.Got Marks mealdeal so tea didnt need much sorting.I got a rotisserie style chicken thinking it was a cooked one until luckily my friend said they weren't,otherwise the men would have had a long wait for their tea :rotfl:.I had a little bit but was still full from lunch. Its one of the friends birthday on Tuesday, and when the bill came she said she wanted to pay for us so that was a nice surprise.Have made her a card and I might make a couple of lavender bags to pop in with it.Its my cousins 60th next week so done one for her as well, and am in the process of a wedding card for another friends daughter.
Off out to our friends tonight-think she's making moussaka. As long as I've not cooked it,anything is a treat.DS is off clubbing in Manchester tonight so he'll just have a pizza from the freezer.
Right, off to the fields I go,Lyla needs her walk. Its gone muddy again due to rain this week-just as it was starting to get a bit better underfoot  but it will be nice (if chilly) down there.Glad you've got a visitor LW.
Everyone have a nice weekend x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -
Good morning all,
I haven't been about for a little while. Am still getting over laryngitis and a viral infection. Absolutely knocked me for six for several days. Feeling alot brighter today.
The sun is shining. Washing machine is on. Hubby is in bed as he has work tonight. Girls are supposed to be tidying their rooms. Hubby did the shopping a couple of days ago so no need to go out.
JackieO, fantastic news about your op.
Julie, i hope you all enjoy your meal.
Tea tonight is chicken curry with rice.
I hope everyone has a good day and hugs to those who need them.

Good morning everyone
Weather is nice and sunny at the moment but heavy showers forecast for later, so washing is on the line but being watched very carefully.
DH, DD, GDD and friend made an early start for Alton Towers. I made them a massive picnic because food and drink is so expensive. DH is outraged that it costs £48 to get in yet you still have to pay to park too. Oh well I hope they have a wonderful time and GDD is tall enough to go on the rides she want to.
LW - lovely to hear about your new unexpected arrival.
Big tidy up required so better get onto that.
Well wishes for all sick people and pets and hugs for those that need or just want them. Keep well and safe and have a super dayLBM 10/1/12 ~ DFW Start 6/2/12: £82,344 ~ Now Zero:staradmin:starmod::staradmin Debt free 17th April 2015 :staradmin:starmod::staradmin
