Best indoor gates for dogs?

I'm moving house this week, and the new house is going to need some dog proofing. Just wondered whether anybody uses gates to keep their dogs out of particular rooms, and whether there were any MSE recommendations?

The dog's pretty hefty, and likes to try pushing his way through whatever's in his way so it needs to be strong, but also a decent price as moving house isn't cheap and my purse is already feeling the strain!

I got a couple off eBay, they can go for £5-10. Or I see them crop up on my local Freecycle groups occasionally. My third was from Argos, they did some really cheap Mamas & Papas ones, not sure if they still do.

I have a tall Lindam gate, but one of mine hops over it like nothing! So I've got the shorter Argos one turned upside down above it. Both are pressure mounted, so no need to screw into the doorways, but they hold up well even to a GSD and a Rottie x, so definately strong enough :)

I was loaned a pressure one for use at the bottom of the staircase.(now not sure if it was a baby gate or taller.) Any how I have really steep stairs. They never bothered. After about a year I acquired a piece of wooden playpen and a friend tweaked it to fit. Perfect and free (looks better as natural wood and safer as the metal one had a bar on which one could trip) Yes it is screwed to the wall one side and has a hook the other. When not wanted it folds back almost flat against the wall.
