Question about HB & CTB calculations.

I have just received my HB award and CTB award for this April 2014 and can't understand the amounts that they are using in their calculations .

I used to receive £112.05 per week IB and after moving onto ESA(C)Support allowance I am still getting the same amount starting in April as it is frozen . This consists of;
Living expenses 72.40
Support Group 35.75
Giving total IR amount of 108.15
Plus Top-Up Payment 3.90
Which makes it 112.05 per week .

On my HB award they have used Income used in calculation as £113.00 (?) per week & on the CT Reduction Calculation Summary they have the amounts of;
ESA Support Component 35.75
ESA Traditional Addition 5.55 (?)
Contributory ESA 77.25 (?)

This comes to an amount of 118.55 per week 6.50 more than the amount I actually receive .

Can anyone explain to me how they might have arrived at these figures ? Because to me it's as if they have just plucked them out of thin air, especially the CT Summary. :huh:

    it looks like an issue with your transitional protection - when you move from IB to ESA, you are not supposed to lose out so we have to add in a transitional amount.

    I would just ring and query as TA does make claims complicated!

    Hi fluffymovie ,
    thanks for your reply . The transitional amount is actually the ' top-up payment of £3.90 ' and not the £5.55 which they had .
    It's OK now as I received some more letters in the post this morning with the correct amounts .
    I had contacted them at the beginning of the week via email but hadn't had any kind of reply so I thought they were ignoring me.
