Renault Kangoo Starting problem
Hi
I have a 2006 Renault Kangoo diesel, have had it around 6 months.
A couple of months ago I was having trouble starting the van until one morning it wouldn't start at all. Called RAC who said it was a dead battery. I put a new battery in and it all worked fine until about two weeks ago.
It is having trouble starting again. This time it tries to start but just doesn't ignite. I have been bumping it every morning for the past week. Once I get it to start in the morning it will start for the rest of the day. I am a dog walker so do lots of short journeys.
My dad thought it was a glow plug problem. I tried fitting new glow plugs but I didn't have the right tool so as the MOT is due next week I booked it into the garage for them to look at the glow plugs and perform the MOT.
The garage have got back to me and said they aren't sure whats wrong. They think it is a fuel regulator problem and they need to subcontract it out to a diesel expert to diagnose it properly? Never heard of that before!
Should I ask the garage to change the glow plugs before they ask this other person in? It just seems that if there was a major problem it wouldn't start at all. Trouble is the garage is run by family so I don't want to go in all guns blazing.
Has anyone had a similar issue?

Swap under Bonnet Relays !
Just find the under Bonnet fuse box and swap around some of the relays, think it is 2 or 3 black ones all the same depending whats fitted, one cuts the fuel pump off when cranking when it goes wrong, you can bump it off, it will run all day again until next morning.
Well worth a go.
If it turns out to be so, just order 2/3 new relaysBe happy...;)0 -
