30 hour element

Please can someone explain what the 30 hour working element is?

We are currently going through restructure and have been offered to go part time or lose jobs as a cost saving measure.

I dont mind. Was given the option to work 25 hrs p/w or 30hrs p/w.

Not sure which is beneficial for me?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

If you are a single person you need to be working 30 hours per week to claim working tax credits. You also need to be on a very low wage - I don't remember the figures, but not much above minimum wage otherwise your earning are too high to qualify.

Different again if you have children, I think.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.
