Are comps seasonal?

Options
This is my first year of comping, having begun in January (not won anything at all yet). When I started there seemed to be loads of great prizes available to enter, but now I have to scour pages of comps to find a prize I want to enter for?

I only do comps for things I want so I know I'm seriously limiting my chance of winning anything, but I have really noticed the difference in prizes over the last few months, presumably as the various companies offering prizes have products and services to launch.

Are competitions seasonal? I wondered, out of curiosity, if there was a pattern to it at all?

My ultimate wish list includes things like a Blu Ray player, holiday/short break, foodie prizes, guitar, perfumes for my good lady etc (oh and a call from itv would be amazing!)

Thoroughly enjoying my new hobby and am so grateful to the wonderful people who post comps.. Be nice to understand a bit more about how it all works :)
Thanks to all who post here:beer:

i think the canvas prints are all year

you get the usual tat for selected holidays - easter, mothers day, advent, halloween. Can't wait for the ramadan ones :rotfl:

I know what you mean about finding prizes, a lot of them are geared up to women. There were a lot of france holiday ones yesterday if you are after a break.

All of the things on your list are posted quite regularly, often the BD players are given away with boxset discs as in the click to win daily links below

I agree - a few things are seasonal, but the sort of things you're after are pretty much on here all year round.

If you want to just focus on those things, you can always use the search function to search for a particular prize :)

    comps are definitely seasonal..
Easter ones will start to overrun the boards soon.
Bank holidays, mothers day, fathers day - anyone's day!!

But what you need to gear up for most is December. Be afraid - be very afraid... for the whole of December it's advent time HUNDREDS of comps every day!! :rotfl:
Thanks to those that post the comps!!

In my opinion the majority of comp are not seasonal but there are some that are, eg Mothers Day comps are all the go at the moment, previously there were Valentines Day and Xmas/advent etc etc. My advice would be to just plug away, dont concern yourself about what others are winning, just keep going. Enter for small items or large items, anything you or yours will benefit by. I won a antibacterial gel this week worth less than a £1 but it will come in useful. Keep plugin away and you will win!

  • Great advice Judy thank you :)
I agree, I don't worry what others are winning.. In fact I love to see that MSE entrants are winning as it gives me hope.. I also totally agree that if it's useful I'll enter, especially if it's something we use anyway.

Love the community spirit on here too.. Started on MSE years ago to work through debt probs, now comping.. Great people :)
