Consumer rights on spectacle lenses from opticians

@Geodark - You're right. We were going to try Tescos after handling the next opticians, but as I said I don't expect it to go well. I did think the opticians lenses would have potential though, seems not though from your guys perspectives.

SuperHan - Thanks for the reply. You're right that of course the opticians (not Tesco) should strive to get the prescription right. They've stated they'll do this. I'll be sure to try and make sure we're happy with the prescription when we go back next time. The worry is that they'll continue to mess up in this regard and we'll never get a set of lenses that's right. As you say, they have nothing to do with the choice of frames size or otherwise. Though as I said, hopefully they may allow us to go to another frame with the prescription replacement, taking more money at the same time.

My concern is that they'll never actually get a pair of lenses that work correctly, and it was the hints so far that we're heading towards this that made the refund be something that appealed.

I guess i hoped that buying on credit card would offer some sort of protection for situations like this. That is, that you lose confidence in the shop, and their services.

It seems unless I contact the credit card company and have them say otherwise that we'll just have to try and work with the opticians to get a better prescription. If we can't manage this on the 3rd or 4th attempt, perhaps they'll offer a refund instead of continuing to waste everyone's time with them failing to get a prescription that works.

You're right.. never buy separate. A lesson learned indeed.
