PCN - Incorrect Incident Date

Hi,
I received a parking charge notice this week from Civil Enforcement Ltd asking for £60 (£100 if not paid within 14days).
We had visited a friends restaurant and did not realise they usual space where we usually park is now a max of one hour. We left as soon as one of friends mentioned the new parking scheme, but we were already 15 mins over.
I have been reading this forum and other sites all day to find out what I can do. While looking at the form again though I have now noticed that the incident date is wrong. I was not even within 20 miles of the car space on that day.
The PCN date is 13/03/14
(incorrect) date of incident 25/02/14
Do I still appeal? I read the thread by Umkomaas, which seems like I may need to contact the land owner. (My Mum is going to go there tomorrow to get the details).
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

The PCN date can be different to the date of the incident, but it should also state the date that the incident happened somewhere on it. Most PCN's have an issue date on them. Was the PCN received via post or attached to the vehicle?0
-
If it's through the post, then it would appear to be late anyway as they only have 14 days to issue the PCN. This would just be another area on which to appeal, as well as the usual grounds such as no genuine pre-estimate of loss etc.0

Hi, it was received by post.
It does not have the correct date I parked there anywhere on the form. Even the bit where it states time and location it states 25/02/14.
The payment slip at the bottom has PCN issue date on it but no other dates.
The form also states they photographic evidence but there was no photo attached.
We parked there on the 02/03/14, so the PCN issue date would be within 14 days if they had the correct date on the form. Could they change the details they have already provided?0 -
Your best bet at this stage is to appeal using the template on the Newbies sticky thread. You could maybe expand on it slightly to say that the vehicle was not there on the specified date.0

They can, and do, try anything but it doesn't stop you winning at POPLA. Your case is the same as others, it's just that you have another ammo point to add to the template first appeal letter in the sticky thread.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thanks for you help folks.
I have copy and pasted the letter from the Newbie thread. Under the numbered bullet points I have added a fourth to say the following
4) The vehicle in question was not in the area on the day of the incident.
Is it best to say it this way instead of telling them they have the wrong date as that I feel would be accepting responsibility.
Thanks

Should be ok. POPLA probably won't care about that point though.0

I would also make the point that their allegation is unsubstantiated with photographic evidence of the alleged event.
And state you require photographic evidence if they reject your appeal - remember you are the keeper - how can the keeper (who wasn't there) possibly judge the validity of their allegation when they have not substantiated their claim with copies of the photographic evidence they say they have. They might not send anything but they may just be daft enough to provide time stamped photos with the wrong date.
Would also advise editing your posts to remove dates you think might have applied0
