Nationwide keep helping themselves!

Hello all.
Ive been with Nationwide since I was 13 (now 29) and when my first child was born I headed straight there to open her trust fund. The only problem I had at the time was Nationwide being too far to go into a branch so I opened a natwest account and set all my direct debits up to this.
Nationwide found a reason to hit me with a bank charge and it got paid when my money went in. Yet once a month they help themselves to £20 and its been going on for 8 months AT LEAST! I complained 4 months ago and the manager said no more charges would be taken yet they do. I get no warnings and if I complain I get told they wont pay it back. What can I do? Can I move my daughters money and close the lot or is that there till shes 18? And how can I get them to stop!
Thanks

first you need to find out why they keep charging you, the fact you have been asking for them back and they decline usually means they are acting within the terms of the account, you need a clear answer then fix whatevet keeps causing it!0

I'm finding this whole story very doubtful, it's not possible for a retail customer to set up a direct debit at either NatWest or Nationwide.0

what sort of a/c do you have with nationwide
what money goes into it each month
what money goes out of it each month
what is it's minimum balance each month
what are the charges for0 -
It's not set up as a regular BACS / CHAPS transfer is it, and the £20 is the charge for this ?0

I think the OP means that all the DDs she pays are debited to her Natwest account.I'm finding this whole story very doubtful, it's not possible for a retail customer to set up a direct debit at either NatWest or Nationwide.
OP if you're certain the charges are taken without warning, start Natiowide's complaints procedure. But first check your statements, the notification of charges may well be on there.0 -

Agree, Nationwide notify you on the monthly statements of any charges that will be debited. There will be a separate page entitled "Notice of charges". This page lists what the charges are for, and when they will be debited - usually around 28 days after the date of the notice.
It will also be possible to go back over previous statements to locate the source(s) of the charges.0 -

Afraid, this doesn't make much sense. You need to get to the bottom of where the charges come from (check your statements).
Your daughter's money is your daughter's money, you don't really have a right to move her money into your account because everything in your account is your money, not your daughter's.
Stop panicking and get to the bottom of the reason for the charges. Then either pay them, or contest them by raising a formal complaint with Nationwide.0 -

You might be right, but it's then got nothing to do with the Nationwide charges.
My thought was that it's some sort of regular payment from the NatWest acount into the Nationwide one as the OP can't get to a Nationwide branch to pay in over the counter. But it can't be a DD - so perhaps it's just a misunderstanding of the terminology and it's a SO or a manual FPS.0 -
The initial transaction triggered charges and each set of charges takes the account overdrawn again.0

If your daughter's money is in a CTF it can only be moved to another CTF. You can't just take out the cash.
