And how is either of those figures going to generate an income to live off?
I agree, spending it on a Lambo is therefore bonkers talk.
I'm so glad I have a final salary scheme in that case.
I had no idea that it was so bad ..... anyway, we are on the PB thread.Bringing Happiness where there is Gloom!0 -

I think the problem may be that many have no pension pot at all, therefore dragging the average down.Chuck Norris can kill two stones with one birdThe only time Chuck Norris was wrong was when he thought he had made a mistakeChuck Norris puts the "laughter" in "manslaughter".I've started running again, after several injuries had forced me to stop0 -
No.
The average pension pot according to the FCA is £17.7k. The ABI reckon it's about £36k.
Talk of pensioners blowing the lot on a Lambo is attention seeking nonsense.
Makes it more tempting for those at those sort of levels to simply enjoy the early years and sod the consequences."If you act like an illiterate man, your learning will never stop... Being uneducated, you have no fear of the future.".....

It would be interesting to see the median figure."If you act like an illiterate man, your learning will never stop... Being uneducated, you have no fear of the future.".....

I assume the difference must be related to the fact that many people have no pension pot at all, so you can either divide the total assets in pension wrappers by the number of people who have pension pots or by the total number of people that could have pension pots.
Luckily because I am just posting on the internet I can pretend that my pension pot is £78.4 million so no worries here.0
