How do I choose the correct TV wall mount to hang on wall

Hi
How best do I determine which is the best TV mount to buy?
They range so vastly in prices right from a bargain £20 all the way up to £500!
I know I want a swivel and a mount which is compatible with the size of the TV but why so difference in price?
What do I pay extra for a more expensive one? Would I be recommended to look at a more expensive one?
I have a twin electrical socket on my chimney breast wall as I recently had some electrical work done but from looking at the mounts some of the brackets are quite wide which would be a problem for me. Could I get away with having a thinner one? Would I lose anything by having this sort of design?
Any help on this confusing matter would be of great help.
Thanks

I have a 32" and bought the mount for £14 from Argos. I'd go to one of the mainline stores and ask what bracket they would recommend for a certain TV,. Then shop around for the cheapest one. A swivel? You mean tilt? You should get one for around £35 upwards. Argos have quite a range do a browse will give you some idea.0

Thanks for the reply. My question is though why are there are some brackets for a lot more. Is it just extra features, handle weight better?0

I bought this a couple of years ago:

1. It looks superb - not like a load of old angle iron.
2. It is beautifully made.
3. I can have the TV flat against the wall or swing it out and watch it from any position in the room - it swings 75 degs one way 90 degs the other.
4. It moves with a finger touch.
5. It has a cable management system built in.
6. Everyone who sees it says how good it is.
7. It WAS expensive - but worth every penny. The ultimate in getting what you pay for !0 -
I have one of these - excellent, supports a 46" plasma without problem

Take care if it a DVD combi that the bracket will fit, the dvd drive has a bump out on the back, Argos told me it was the right fitting but it didn't work.

I have a £14 bracket from eBay. It's a slim model and tilts to 10 degrees.
It's been holding a 60 inch plasma for many months and no issues. It's capable of holding up to 60kg, my TV is under 30.0 -
As far as I remember I used this bracket finder http://www.bracketfinder.co.uk/0

Don't forget to fix it to the wall properly, use rawl bolts as opposed to plugs if it's going into brick0
