My car is wrote off, ins co wont pay out...

We moved house december 16th. My car had a fire on feb 12th and was written off the next day.
The insurance co asked me to send in my log book and mot.
My log book has my previous address on it, so the car is registered there. It never even occured to me to change this address. I changed the insurance to the new address and even my driving licence, but the vehicle reg did not even enter my mind.
The underwriter says as the vehicle being registered at the other address this invalidates my insurance!!!
This does not sound fair.
Any thoughts or advice as to what todo?

Which Insurer is it?
Have they confirmed in writing what the reason is for them declining the claim.0 -
Complain and they will pay out
If they don't then refer to the FOS0
