Hi
I would like to advice on where to start. I have a large amount of debt across many different creditors (loans, credit cards, PDL etc). I am on a DMP but believe that several of these have added on unfair/illegal charges. I have claimed back my PPI but would like to know what else to do in terms of- claiming back bank charges (overdraft fees/ missing SO and DD) and this new refunds that banks are supposed to be making on illegal charges.
Thanks

Banks are not amking new refunds on illegal charges, because they can charge you for unauthorised overdrafts etc. The only reason they would waive charges is if you are in finacial hardship, and are still being charged them.
Historic charges are unlikely to be refunded.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -
.......believe that several of these have added on unfair/illegal charges.
You might believe bank charges are unfair/illegal. In 2009, the Supreme Court did not agree with you. Since then, the issue is dead and buried.

What unfair or illegal charges are you referring to?and this new refunds that banks are supposed to be making on illegal charges.
what are these illegal charges?I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -

You could be in for a surprise regarding your dead and buried comment.
Google 'Govan Law Centre' and just perhaps one of many legal cases
they have brought might just might get to the Appeal Court. As they say

As they say 'Watch this space'
Govan Law Centre (nor anyone else) hasn't had a single refund of bank charges after the judgement. In particular not one where the charges are claimed to be unfair and/or illegal. (Nobody has ever argued bank charges were 'illegal', but 'unlawful'.)
There was only one case where the court ruled on a refund of the charges and that was a rather absurd case, involving some 'unlawful detention' (locking-in) of the claimant by the bank.0 -
may i suggest you contact your bank and express finacial difficulty as these are the only cases being upheld with fos at the moment (cases of genuine FD where the bank has not considered also charges caused by charges but less likely to succed)0
