Ferry prices

I think we should have a sub board for ferry prices. 1000's of people holiday in France or further afield each year and rely on ferries or Eurotunel. And whilst there are often good deals for short trips, day trippers or out of season, come school holidays and WHAM!! the cost goes thorugh the roof. Speedferries have all but sold out now for peak days and if you want a sailing that is say morning or afternoon on return with other companies, you pay through the roof (Dover -Calais) and DON'T even get me started on Portsmouth-Caen or St Malo!!
We've just been quoted £537 return!
It's a disgrace.
Where's Stelios when we need him? He needs Easysail (or something similar) - shake P&O off their perch

The company that I work for have a special offer that gives 50% off the fares on some P & O, Hoverspeed & Isle of Man Steampacket.
It's a straight up deal and they also have special offers on Norse Merchant Ferries. Liverpool to Belfast and vice versa.
You must quote M&L offer but don't say where u got the code.

Speedferries currently offer single crossings between Dover and Boulogne for £25. This is for a car and up to 5 passengers. This means £50 return and regardless of the number of days you spend abroad. Furthermore for the first time it is possible to book an open ticket (by using the booking of 25/12/05 as the port is closed that day). Be quick though as this offer runs only until June 16th and is available for the first 10 000 people to book.0

dont even get me started on Brittany Ferries...
when i was a student in portsmouth, my parents livd in brittany so i used to take the ferry from portsmouth to st malo... BF being the only one operating this link they were asking for exorbiting prices for a "on-foot" passenger, and no cabin, which meant !!!!ty hardly reclinable seats (i used to sleep on the ground using 5 of their dusty blankets as a mattress, people switching the light on waking up the entire lounge just because they needed to go to the loo at 3am, appalling draft from the air con, being treated like !!!!e by the staff who does not give a dam about your struggling with the luggage, etc)
anyway
if you take a 24 hour return and do not use the return but buy a single from the desk in france to come back whenever you want, it will work out cheaper than telling them you want to go and come back 1 week later..."Don't cry, Don't Raise your Eye

If you don't mind being a foot passenger, you can get a free return ferry crossing on https://www.ipoints.co.uk
It's for up to 5 people for up to five days on Sea France which offers the Dover-Calais route, and P&O Portsmouth covering crossing from Portsmouth to Cherbourg and Le Havre.
You need 40 points to get the voucher, but you can earn these by signing up and joining a couple of survey sites. At the moment you get 60 just for registering with ebay.0
