APCOA Parking enforcement notice

Hey guys!

My mother received a letter regarding illegal parking at Birmingham Airport (2nd March) and has been ordered to pay £100 (£50 in14 days).

We usually pay to pack but in this instance i had to be dropped off ASAP as i had to minutes to checkin for my flight. The whole drop off took about 5 seconds.

The letter we received is dated the 18th of March. After doing a search on here i read someone say that they must inform you within 14 days of an "offence" - is this still the case?

We begrudge the idea of having to pay such a hefty fine so any advice on next steps would be excellent. Sorry if I'm repeating other threads but i've found conflicting reports on the best steps to deal with these cowboys.

Thanks very much!

the only advice you need is in here https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4816822 so no idea how you missed it

as its in england you must appeal this using the template in that newbies thread

pofa 2012 is only relevant if the notice is served within 14 days , also on relevant land , which airport land isnt

but the PCN is still valid under the old rules where the driver is held responsible (so do not tell them who this is, nor imply it either)

so appeal it ? = yes , using the template , if necessary spank them at popla for various appeal points too

use the search word airport or birmingham in the search box to find recent similar threads with the same scenario , then beat them at popla if they dont cancel

ps:- its not a fine so no idea where you got that idea from, its an invoice for stopping on private roads dressed up as a parking charge notice

only a court or a judge can fine you
  • Cheers mate :)
