Hi
I parked at Beech Hill in the lake district on 08/03/2013 arrived there at 23:48 and left on 09/03/2014 at 14:16. when we arrived there we checked out the parking meter but it was out of order, we recorded trying to use the machine but still decided to park there as it was so late and we were camping there. I recieved a parking ticket posted to my home address today, saying i had to pay the parking charge which is £100. i am making an appeal but will my appeal have any grounds?
Thank you

What happened on the day is largely irrelevant.
Check out the two stickies at the top of the board which sets out your plan of action. This sets out several good reasons why you will not have to pay.
Edit your post to remove specific details, use "the driver" rather than "I" and remove specific dates and times. Use something like "late one spring evening".Je suis Charlie0 -
Hi Saki,
Something you might like to know - it relates to the point about no genuine pre estimate of loss. You won't need this level of detail in your 1st appeal - just raising the no GPEOL point will be sufficient along with the other points as per the template letter in the NEWBIES thread Aaron pointed you to, - but the information below could come in useful to you for the 2nd appeal stage with POPLA when you need to expand on the no GPEOL point.
The contract that the Lake Districts National Park has with P E means that all tariffs for P&D payments goes to LDNP and that P E keeps almost all the money from the charges for breach (minus any underpayment of tariff which is deducted and paid to LNDP).
So lets say my vehicle was parked for a period of time without paying and the tariff for the time it was there should have been £5. The loss to the landowner would only have been £5 and P E keeps the rest.
So how do they justify the £100 is a loss and not profit.
You can find the information on the web site whatdotheyknow by doing a search for LNDP as someone put in a Freedom of Information request.0
