Help needed with internet access

We as a family are having to cope with clearing a relatives house. He had a fair few things we'd like to put on Ebay, but there is no internet access in the house. I know there are ways of connecting without a ISP contract but what exactly? and how much, and where do I buy it? Sorry for asking about such a simple thing, I just can't figure it out. Many thanks.

Any friendly neighbours with a wireless connection you can 'see' on your device(s)? Long shot but they may let you use their connection.
ps. in the same boat (minus internet issue) - nightmare!0 -
Most phone companies will sell you a dongle which you can use with a payg SIM or you can buy unlocked ones online. If you thought you could get use out of it later, get a mifi (just Google it). Check out the network coverage in your area first. You can get 3 sims from Amazon for about about £20 (used to be a tenner!) which last for 3 months or 3 GB. I use them on my iPad and they never seem to run out...
I agree, scan for available networks, then go and smile at a neighbour!
Good luck with the house - never a fun job...0 -
not make a list then upload then when you get home ?
If you upload them via a broadband link that you don't normally use how will you monitor all the questions and hopefully all the sales ?

Thanks for the replies folks. There seems to be only 1 house near with internet access, and I don't know who's it is. I've already tried the neighbours, and I live 200 miles from where the house is, so I really didn't want to cart the things home. I might investigate the other family members, and scrounge from them, both network access and coffee!
Thanks for the kind remarks about clearing houses, I'd probably be better able to do it if it was my blood relative, I hate having to check with others every time I want to get rid of something, no matter how old and tatty. Sandra0 -
