Not been there yet, only moved up here from the SW a couple of months ago. Apart from the incessant rain (!), I love it up here. You been flooded up that way? I think we got through by the skin of our teeth, but the garden is waterlogged, 5 mins of rain and there are HUGE puddles and the veggies are under a couple of inches of water again today
. Might just get water lillies instead! "A cat can have kittens in the oven, but that don't make them biscuits." - Mary Cooper

:rotfl:did a huge shop on 30th June so it didn't go into Julys figures, but don't tell anyone :rotfl:
And the £8.62 includes a £25 Tesco shop full of BOGOFs using a £10 off £25 code which just turned up"A cat can have kittens in the oven, but that don't make them biscuits." - Mary Cooper

Well done you Polly......
No we weren't too badly affected by the floods but I have got an allotment and almost everything was under a foot of water. Doubt if much will survive but its nothing compared to how some have suffered with their houses so aren't grumbling. Also its pretty early in the season so can get some more stuff sown hopefully. (listen to me like I know what Im on about :rotfl: its our first real season growing veg and all Ive had so far is some onions, peas and beetroot. But hey its a start :j Oh and also loads of sweet peas )Make £10 a Day Feb .....£75.... March... £65......April...£90.....May £20.....June £35.......July £600 -
lol - my first year too. I have courgettes, french beans, peas (some in tubs I've put in shed when rain bad so they should survive!), spring onions, carrots and potatoes and loads of sweet peas lol
taters nearly ready (couple of weeks to go I should think), 1 courgette coming along nicely and one more starting to flower lol, but spring onions not showing any signs of life at all
I was too late to do anything else really, but going for gold next year! There aren't any allotments here unfortunately as I'd love one. The wet is a bit disheartening, but like you say, nothing compared to what some have had to deal with.
All this and my gardens the size of a 2nd class stamp :rotfl:
Another thunderstorm just starting now
we had 5 yesterday, this is the 2nd today! "A cat can have kittens in the oven, but that don't make them biscuits." - Mary Cooper

My Tesco delivery arrived 40mins EARLY! I was still in my pyjamas.
Just to make me look even more of a slob, I had a load of wine and beer in my "naked" delivery and had to stand at the doorstep for ages unloading the bottles! I'm sticking to the bags in future, it normally only takes a couple of minutes to get everything in the house and it was closer to 15 today. Aiming to pay off mortgage by my 30th birthday... £39438 to go!
