That's a good deal, I paid £5.99 yesterday morning for a Sainsburys delivery, I'm sure they have put their delivery charges up. I will have to check for cheaper delivery slots.0

Aldi need to go online shopping.
They would make a killing and put the other supermarkets out of business.0 -

It could be that someone very near to you has also ordered shopping at the same time slot, that would mean you get offered a cheaper price for the same time slot.0

I had no idea you could get delivery for as little as £1, Sainsburys is something in the region of £3.99 or £4.99 which never seems worth it to me so I only do it if I've got a free delivery voucher.0

Ocado has a system that shows you time slots when they will be delivering in your area. This allows you to book these slots and save the environment (and Ocado money). Sadly it does not save you money. Given the choice of paying for a slot that would save fuel and another an hour later for £0 I chose the latter.
I suppose if a supermarket has to obtain vans and employ staff it makes sense to encourage customers to make use of spare capacity at off-peak times. I wonder how sophisticated pricing is. Does it cost more to have deliveries further from a store? Is it cheaper to book early or at the last minute?
£1 offer promoted here.
