There is something else to be taken into consideration. The first time most tents are used, the seams leak! They are meant to, as then then swell up and seal the holes. So, if you can, put it up in the garden, and let it get wet!

thanks - I'll try that this weekend... luckily (!) we've had no shortage of rain to try this out with!!!

Yeah i went camping last summer with this tent it rained for two days solid. I live in scoyland so it was heavy rain. Don't worry it let a couple of drips at the begining and then stood up to aufull wether. Its a good tent.

As they've had the tent for 2 years, your advice might be a bit late for them to consider taking it back or not?

Hi 1500 HH is the absolute minimum for the UK. 2000 HH is recommended. Most decent tent manufacturers eg Vango, Outwell etc start at 3000 HH these days.

  • Bought their six-man tent (must be for very small people). Set it all up correctly, went out for some dinner. Whilst out it started raining, got back to find beds soaked through. Went to b&b for the night and bought a new tent the next day. Took the old tent back to Asda and, give them their due, they refunded my money.
It says it's a six-man tent but couldn't even get a smallish double airbed in the pod. If you want to use this in the garden for the children then it's fine and certainly big enough. I'm only 5ft and my head touched the top, would hate to think of anyone taller trying to live in this for a week.
