These are great pans (heavy) for both gas and induction.

Our last gas hob was an old one and less fussy.
The correct 'sparker' thingy is definitely clicking (i.e. the one on the right ring). The remaining issue is that sometimes it clicks repeatedly for ages before lighting, even though you can hear (and smell) gas coming through.
Yep that'll be it!
For the other issue, it may be that the spark electrode is shorting somewhere - so whilst it'll be clicking and sparking, it may be sparking where the wire connects to the electrode inside (the white thing) instead of sparking at the tip of the electrode where it should, so it won't be sparking where the gas is, if that makes sense? Not something you can fix yourself though, that one, unfortunately.0 -

Someone else has recommended these to me. I bought new saucepans only a year before we bought this house. Fortunately they're induction-compatible (not that I looked for that in them!).
I have frying pans and an extra-large saucepan that aren't, so they go on the gas rings. I won't bother replacing them until they wear out.0
