Actions after offer accepted

Fingers crossed it's looking likely that we'll have an offer accepted on a house today - just waiting for the agent to call me back.

What are the things we'll have to do immediately to get to Sold STC status? It's my first time buying property in the UK, so I don't want to appear clueless when speaking to the agent.

Provide solicitor details asap so a memo of sale can be issued by EA to all parties , also having that info straight off keeps the EA/Vendor happy

I know it`s a probate , but is the chain complete your end ?

Just had confirmation the offer is accepted! EA says they had two higher offers but agent's advice was to go with us as we're chain free :):).

They have the details of the solicitors we're planning to use, but we haven't actually instructed them yet - they're a firm my partner previously used some years ago. Will there be any issue if EA contacts the solicitors before we do? My partner normally deals with things like lawyers, and he's tied up in meetings most of the day.

We are also intending to go with a different mortgage provider than the one indicated on our offer letter - long story, but intending to speak to the bank tomorrow afternoon with a view to putting in the mortgage application immediately. Will that be ok?
