PPI How to check whether I was sold it?

Options
Good morning.

Having spoken to some friends who told me they reclaimed some PPI that they did non even realise they had taken out I wanted to check my own situation in relation to two large mortgages I had with Halifax and Alliance a& Leicester

I'm aware there are various companies that can help but charge a whopping fee if PPI is owed. Given I believe I only have a limited chance of having taken out PPI how can I check this without a) getting fobbed off by the banks or b) without losing a large % of any settlement if I have indeed paid for this?

Any advice gratefully received

Look at your bank statements. If you did indeed take out some sort of PPI in relation to "two large mortgages I had with Halifax and Alliance a& Leicester" then there will be a monthly DD going out to some insurance company.

Ah ok - these would be separate? I was unsure if they would be in the cost of the mortgage repayments.

Halifax only retailed monthly premium insurance which would be collected via direct debit from your current account.

They dont. It is one of the reasons why most MPPI complaints get rejected.
