They don't seem to get very good reviews those sprayers, i've seen people complaining that you need the genuine Cuprinal paint and still they block up easily.
You may find an old paintbrush better to use and just slop it on.

Cuprinol do a special thinner paint for sprayers, you can't use the standard stuff. Personally I would use the standard stuff and a paintbrush...

Make sure that all connections are very tight - I had one connection come loose when I used mine for the first time, and was fairly well covered with paint... I also found that the thinner paint travelled a fair distance and covered other things as well, not an easy job unless you have a spraying booth. And I couldn't clean it properly afterwards, so was binned after just one use...

Before we were married, my now wife's neighbour managed to paint her garden, virtually everything in it and the back of her house a nasty shade of splattered brown at the same time as he was painting his side of the fence with a sprayer.

If you do have to use one, be aware the the spray can travel a long way beyond the limits of your garden even if it isn't windy.

Personally, I'd use a brush... and bring back capital punishment for those guilty of inconsiderate use of a paint sprayer. :p

tried the sprayer with the really expensive special paint. Totally useless!!! I pumped it up , it splurted out in great globules for the first 30 seconds , really thick splodges everywhere. Am better off the old method of brush and paint.!!!

I purchased a sprayer last year with the correct paint for the sprayer and it was useless. Ended up using a brush. Also beware the spray travels a long way in the wind and makes a right mess of everything.
