hi I wonder if someone could help me . I had a baby in sept 2012 and started a new job in June 2013 after being made redundant in August 2012. my new job was part time and paying 7000 per annum when I called tax credits to make a claim they based it on an incone of 9500 because my earning we're less than the previous years and taking into consideration the 2500 disregard. as the tc were based on 9500 they were less than I expected and I started I looked for a better paid job.
I found a new job in jan and informed them of the change but did not tell them of any change in income as i estimated it would not go over the figure of 9500. I am now worried that the disregard doesn't matter and I should of told them I would be earning above 7000.
I appreciate any advice in advance

Yes, the disregard needs to be added to your new figure. So if you actually earn 9,500 then they would use 12,000 (presuming of course that your previous year income was more than 12,000).

I don't know if I explained this very well, my income 12/13 was 16900 when I put in my claim I had a new job paying 7000 for 13/14 because this had dropped considerabably tax credits based my award on 9500 because of the 2500 income fall disregard. I started a new job in jan 2014 which has resulted in my income increasing to 10300, my question is if I have an overpayment will it be worked out on earning over 7000 or 9500. when I started the new job I didn't inform tax credits of the increased income as I didn't foresee it going above 9500, it is a commission based role .0
