Stop getting me all excited now! :j

I go on holiday later this month and will start searching as soon as we get back now I know from peeps on here its the right thing to do.

Six months ago I wouldnt have had one dog... would have said they are too much trouble. Now I'd rather stay in for cuddles with her than go to the pub!

    I've gone doggy mad!

Dogs are pack animals and I always feel sorry for the dogs who only have humans in their packs. Just make sure they both know you're the boss, and let them sort out their own place in the pack between them. Might be a bit of dog effing and jeffing but it's usually all bluster. I always had more than one, and just got replacements.
.................:)....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

I don't agree about twice as much work, however perhaps I'm lucky with my two. But definitely agree twice as much joy.

I found the switch from one to two relatively easy. Of course you will need to ensure that your first dog remains top dog, ie gets his dinner first etc, and of course keep an eye on them to begin with but to be honest I don't think there's anything like doggie companionship and of course it makes it easier for dogs when they are left alone as they have each for company :D

Go for it, you wont regret it. Twice as much doggie kisses too :p

I know you've already made your decision but couldn't resist adding my tuppence worth. My sister and I moved in together recently. She has a dog and I have one and I feel much better knowing that Monty has company when we are not there. Although of course the responsibility for each dog still lies with us individually, so not necessarily double the work, apart from the vacuuming of their hair, which being golden retrievers is constant!!

yes I always feel better if I'm running a bit late as I know they have each other as company.

I hoover twice a day too but to be honest it's a small price to pay for the love I get back from them. I'd have 3 if I had the room :D

Well last night my dog decided she didnt want to lay next to me on the sofa so the climbed up between my legs and I put my arms around her with her nose shoved into my elbow and cradled her like a baby whilst she snored away... not the easiest manouvere for a big boxer, its going to be even trickier with two :rotfl:

Edited to add: I knew there was something else I was going to ask, do you all have a male and female (thats whats been recommended to me) as I did think about getting another girl?

They do recommend boy and girl but I know that 2 girls can work, however 2 males are not recommended.
