The Publishers are American (by which I mean 'an American company').
The Designers are French (by which I mean 'a French company').

    OK, to be totally obtuse.

So you made two investments, one to a French Design Company and one to an American Publishing Company.

The companies jointly have taken the view that speed was of the essence over typos, which you disagree with.

You will need legal advice in both countries if you wish to pursue this.

    I've been Money Tipped!
Kickstarter state clearly, in their terms and conditions, that when a Backer backs a project a contract is formed between the Backer and the Creator, and that the Creator has an obligation to make all reasonable efforts to deliver the rewards they promise.

Also, as the game in question is a sequel to a previous game, and the misprinted items are of a standard format, a precedence has been set for what the items should look like.

The Publishers and Designers have also publicly admitted that the misprint is a mistake.

They are simply, so far, refusing to make correct that mistake.

Yes, you have a contract with the creator (is that the publisher of the game developer or both btw? that's what posters above want clarified and that you seem to not be grasping). Not all contracts are consumer contracts to which consumer rights apply. Kickstarter and other similar investment type contracts are very unlikely to be considered consumer contracts. You have invested in a business with the promise of a reward (if it is within the reasonable efforts of the person receiving the investment to provide them). That is not a consumer transaction.

I'd also question whether it is 'reasonable' to have the game re-printed as it is likely to be very costly and could mean the project loses money...many would argue that it is unreasonable to expect the business to make a loss on the project to correct a relatively minor issue.

On a side note, keep in mind that if there are future print runs of this game which have been corrected, your misprinted version is likely to become a collector's item and may well go up in value considerably.
Common sense?...There's nothing common about sense!

If they haven't figured out that you need to check stuff before sending it to the printers, and they haven't figured out that it pays to be nice to people providing them with financial backing, it's very likely that this is the last print run this game ever gets.

So make the best of what you've got now ;)
